Soft99 Ultra Glaco
This is what I use on my windshield to improve visibility when driving in the rain. It’s basically a glass coating that makes water bead up and slide off, so you can see clearer without relying too much on wipers.
Why I Use This
Driving a Miata, especially in the rain, visibility matters a lot more since you’re lower and more exposed.
I wanted something more long-term instead of constantly reapplying quick sprays. This one lasts much longer and actually creates that “water flying off” effect once you’re driving.
It’s not just about looks — it genuinely helps you see earlier and clearer in rain, which makes driving feel more confident.
How I Use It
I treat this as a proper coating step, not something I do every wash. My flow:
- Clean the glass properly (very important)
- Apply evenly using the built-in applicator
- Let it sit for about 5–10 minutes
- Wipe off residue
- Leave it dry for ~12 hours for full effect
After that, it’s mostly maintenance-free.
What I Like
- Water repels strongly at speed (rain just slides off)
- Long-lasting compared to normal glass sprays
- Improves visibility during heavy rain
- Doesn’t need frequent reapplication
Anything to Note
Preparation matters a lot here.
If your glass isn’t properly cleaned (especially oil film), the result won’t be as good. Also, sometimes you might notice slight haze under certain conditions — using wipers usually clears it.
